PAINTER & MURALIST
Artist's Statement:
Color is life and life is colorful; and watercolor is my medium. Watercolors adds an excitement to creativity. The medium has a life of its own. Its transparency lets the paper be a part of the art. I sketch the subject, set my palette, begin the thrill. You never know how it will turn out. Nor, do you have a chance to undo what has been created. It's either a winner or a bust.
I also paint with acrylics and latex and enjoy building the layers of color. Another aspect of my artwork is mural painting. I treat them as huge canvas. My murals are vibrant with layers of color, depth and detail. Please contact me if you'd like to have a mural painting completed.

Windy Day
The light coming in the old barn window is what caught my eye. I snapped a picture of it and did a quick sketch. As the title implies, it was a windy day and the watercolor was drying fast so the finishing touches were done in the studio. 19"x21" watercolor–$350 |

Pink Flower
This was painted with other flowers and vines wrapping around the banister up a staircase in the foyer of a client’s home. latex |

Rainforest
The YMCA of Milford, Michigan commissioned this mural in their child care center. The section on the back wall was painted on a canvas mounted on framed panels so the mural could be moved to another space in the future. There was a lot of research for the wide variety of animals. |

Some Where Up North
This was a quick sketch in my car then completed the painting in the studio. 24"x20" watercolor.
