Johnny Dogs – A new Explore Munising Listing

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

We’d like to introduce a new listing on the Explore Munising website for a restaurant that just recently opened called Johnny Dogs. Located on Lynn Street in downtown Munising, (just off M-28 west) this isn’t your typical eatery. As you may have guessed by the name, their main specialty is hot dogs! Owned and operated by John Flanders, this business originally began as a summer hot dog stand but now has moved into a permanent spot. John has cooked for restaurants in New York, Boston and L.A. and his culinary skills are evident in the food at Johnny Dogs. Their menu includes a wide-variety of gourmet hot dogs, sandwiches, burgers, hand-cut fries, soups and daily specials. All menu items are prepared with fresh foods daily and the popular turkey and pork meats are smoked on-site every night. If you’d like to have an event catered, they do that as well. They also do themed parties and pig roasts. So, the next time you’re in Munising, check out Johnny Dogs for lunch, dinner or anytime! They are open Monday thru Saturday, 11am till late.

Side note. In last week’s posting, I gave a review of our winter for the 2008-2009 season, thinking we were done. Last Saturday, Mother Nature played a mean trick and made it snow! Nothing accumulated on the ground but see it snowing was quite ironic. It also looks like tomorrow we could have the same! The temperature is only suppose to be in the 40s and there’s another chance of the white stuff. Isn’t it the middle of May?
